FEB 28-29 Saturn and Mercury in a Cazimi with the Sun in Pisces
A Cazimi (Arabic for “heart of the Sun”) happens when a planet is in absolute alignment with the Sun. Here, the planet experiences a “divine detox” and is reset toward its higher expressions. Late February’s Cazimi involves both Saturn and Mercury conjunct the Sun, offering you a fresh perspective about the structures at the center of your life (job, relationships, organizations, home.) Take advantage of this “double “moment of clarity. You could be asked to make a shift in one of these areas so you can grow spiritually.
MAR 4-5 Mercury in Pisces Sextile Uranus in Taurus
Mercury is the knowledge-bearer. But in Pisces, Mercury relies more on intuition and being present than logical linear processes. Add a sextile with Uranus in Taurus (remember, Uranus is the planet known for quantum connections and sudden breakthroughs) and Mercury’s usual “one thought in front of the other” approach is put on hyper-speed. Surrender to what wants to come through and you could figure out a new way forward in a flash!
Uranus may catalyze “aha” moments. But in Taurus, it can also bring up old anxieties around money, safety, and security. The positive, sextile alignment with Mercury in spiritual Pisces could help lift your gaze out of surviving to thriving.
MAR 9 Mars in Aquarius Square Uranus in Taurus
Squares between planets and points are always calls to action. With Mars, action is a given. Mars is all about initiating the next stage in life: the next home improvement project, business idea, relationship, exercise plan, or move. In Aquarius, Mars is more of a renegade than ever, protective of his individual plans and needs. But this Mars has passed through the Pluto Portal at 1 degree of Aquarius and been challenged to manage his bull-in-the-china-shop ways. In a square to Uranus – a decidedly more powerful energy -Mars is asked to exercise even more caution about heading into something without weighing the consequences. Any challenging meet up between these two mighty archetypes can summon explosive and even dangerous dynamics. On March 9, be especially watchful of any tendency to go too fast (literally), ramp up conflict, or to seek a pay-back. You might be on the losing end. At his best, Mars is a warrior protecting what is good, beautiful, and true. As Mars squares Uranus, be ready for something (or someone) to come out of the blue and trigger the fight or dare-devil response. You’ll be glad you did some preparation!
MAR 10 Pisces New Moon and Moon Enters Aries
New Moons represent new beginnings. In Pisces (ruled by ethereal Neptune), spiritual themes are at the forefront. Maybe you’ve wanted to start a book club based on a spiritual theme or a project that’s big on imagination and artistic elements. Perhaps you’re ready to carve out consistent time for meditation or outings in nature. This New Moon gives you just the window of opportunity you need to re-prioritize the “higher” things of life. Having just passed through pragmatic Saturn, she’s all about practical strategies for spiritual growth. As she passes through Neptune and enters Aries later in the day – the quintessential sign of action – you could notice a rising passion for a new way of living your life in the “real” world.
MAR 19 Sun Enters Aries, Sextiles Pluto and Sedna
Today, the Sun shifts out of Pisces – the last sign of the zodiac – to Aries, the first sign. You’ll most likely feel this shift in your body, going from the nebulous, cosmic energies of Neptune (ruler of Pisces) to the “do it now” momentum of Mars (ruler of Aries). This transition can feel like a major whiplash. But there is often a big relief after living in the “clouds” of Pisces for a month. Finally, you can put your running shoes on and get traction with that partnership, business expansion, or home renovation! But wait, there’s more! This Sun not only has a clear “go” button. It is a much wiser Sun, having made some big mistakes, experienced more than a few hard knocks, and realized that progress is only progress if everyone’s lives improve. In a sextile to transformative Sedna, this Aries Sun understands the value of difficult journeys. Action (Aries’ forte) is best guided by what’s most important, and Sedna’s gentle influence now reminds the Sun that suffering – whether recent or decades old – can purify old, self-centered purposes if the intention is there.
MAR 25 Libra Lunar Eclipse
The Libra Lunar Eclipse is the first eclipse of the year, but it’s the third of six eclipses occurring along the Aries-Libra axis from April 2023 to March 29, 2025. All six eclipses focus specifically on relationships: those that are positive and upbuilding, and those that somewhere on the spectrum of “challenged.” Have you noticed your commitment levels to certain relationships either increasing or decreasing since the total solar eclipse in late April of last year? If so, you’re paying attention. These intense Aries-Libra interactions have been testing the resiliency of your connections, urging you to engage in healthier relationship practices.
A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse is a culminating energy. In this case, it could herald the end of a way of being with certain people in your life. And because endings can be dramatic, you could find yourself in a whirlwind of emotional dynamics around your primary friendships, partnerships, or intimate others: from increased disengagement to absolute stand-off.
Wherever your relationships are on the feeling spectrum, now is the time to resolve what’s blocking a more mutual, balanced experience. A conscious Libra wants to increase self and other awareness, working toward compromise with grace. A conscious Aries will engage healthy self-assertion, taking the lead to resolve issues, and acting with both tact and courage.
At the core of this Full Moon is the goal of balance between what you need and meeting the needs of others. The great psychologist Carl Jung often spoke of the “tension of the opposites” as the fuel of growth, and that’s certainly true here. Rather than going for the easy “either/or”, imagine how autonomy and togetherness can dance together. Remember, midway between independence and codependence is interdependence.
At the very least, this Libra Full Moon is a reminder that you need relationships. You are not an island. But truth – especially emotional truth – is the rails on which relationships run. Getting to that truth with love is the goal.
